Riding Cassidy – The Horse That Tells the Truth

So… I rode a horse that doesn’t breathe, doesn’t swish her tail, and definitely doesn’t need to be tacked up — and somehow it ended up being one of the coolest (and hardest!) rides I’ve ever had.
Meet Cassidy, the ultimate equine simulator.
I won’t lie, climbing on a horse that isn’t real felt a little strange at first. But that feeling lasted about five minutes. Because once Cassidy starts moving, you realize something very quickly: she misses nothing. Every tiny shift in my weight, every time I thought I was straight but wasn’t, every little habit I didn’t even know I had… she told on me immediately.
I think sometimes people forget that riding isn’t just sitting there and looking pretty. You’re using your core, your legs, your back, your arms, all while trying to stay balanced and communicate clearly with a very big, very strong partner. Riding is unlike any other sport, and just when you think you’ve found all the right muscles, horses somehow wake up brand-new ones you didn’t even know existed.
Heather put me through exercises that seriously tested my balance and strength. No stirrups, tiny rein adjustments, shifting my weight from one seat bone to the other, things that sound small but feel huge. I could feel muscles working that I’ve never really noticed before, and it was honestly kind of eye-opening.
The best part was realizing how much this translates to riding a real horse. When something clicked on Cassidy, I could instantly imagine how much clearer and steadier I’ll be in the saddle.
It was challenging, a little humbling, and also really fun. I loved it.
